Organize and refresh develop and oversee all content to be utilized in the electronic newsletter and social networking messaging programs.Take the responsibility to be the supervisor for all updates provided by each committee requested to update the section of the site that is under their individual leadership.Write individual articles about FGILA events and other industry-related happenings to be utilized on the site, working closely with teh PR and Communications Committee and any other outside companies engaged to promote this effort.Organize, write and post frequent relevant and engaging BLOGS to develop interactive dialogue with our members and the community.Supervise the recruitment of photographers whether it be members in attendance or professionals to be used for all communication purposes.Upload and organize all generated photos through coordinated post event follow up, with the aim of securing high res. images and with identification of the persons and places and dates contained in the image.Work closely with the PR and Communications committee to provide proper images for distribution to press if necessary.Optimize FGILA's presence on the web & through online social networks by working in tandem with any companies that may be providing consultation and service to the organization for this purpose.Regularly update our Los Angeles Regional Page on the FGI Global Website and supervise the timely and updated presence on the FGILA Facebook Page.
Public Relations and Communications CommitteeList FGILA’s events on all related online cultural, city & trade web event calendars.Forward appropriate images to attending press for use with their editorial coverage.Locate and add new press contacts to media lists.Write press releases, invitations and letters to press about upcoming programs and opportunitiesFollow up with potential press attendees to ensure they’ve received our invitations.Host press at all FGILA events.Follow up with press after events to send photos and background information to help them with their articles and retrieve any written or published coverage and archive the material to the website.Retrieve, and digitally scan all press clippings related to FGILA and post to the electronic newsletter in the press category.Upload all press releases to the Press are of the Electronic Website.Organize all archived press clippings and notable press images for 2010 75th Anniversary promotions.

Event Hospitality CommitteeCheck in members and welcome guests at the beginning of every event.Help attendees with name badges.Gather email addresses and business cards from all non-members attending events.Sell raffle tickets.Direct people to areas of event venue (membership, seating, food, drinks, etc) during events.Socialize to engage & introduce new & old members.Introduce our partner charities to members at each event.Distribute materials during programs.Organize and distribute gift bags at the end of events when appropriate.Recruit new Volunteers.Organize and display refreshments when appropriate.Orchestrate and distribute event signage.Membership CommitteeRecruit and secure new members and guide applicants through the membership process.Communicate with new members frequently to engage them with involvement opportunities.Greet potential and new members attending FGILA programs and make networking introductions.Prepare and present monthly membership application reports after properly processing them.Update membership information in our online database.Develop strategy for outreach campaigns to engage new ways to locate potential new members.Ensure that appropriate membership collateral (signage, membership kits, a copy of the Annual Directory and a laptop for instant sign up is available whenever possible.Designate at least 3 knowledgeable members from the membership committee to attend each FGILA program, networking event or fundraiser.Coordinate head shots of new members and 100 word self written introductions to be uploaded on a monthly basis for the Membership section of the electronic newsletter. (launch date TBA) Programming CommitteeConceptualize, design and institute a program of 8-9 monthly business programs that have relevance and impact for our constituency.Develop at least 2 additional concepts that work in harmony with the slate as backup program ideas.Organize and recruit top professionals to participate as panelists, speakers and moderators.Communicate and resolve all details for each business program.Secure venues, develop sponsors, and organize and oversee all aspects of the event to be properly summarized in detail (parking, organization and procurement of speaker bios and company logos, venue logistics, sound equipment, oversee all printed materials and hand-outs and room set-up).Schedule a calendar year slate with targeted dates and topics at minimum of 6 months in advance of the first annual event.Create a time line to work in tandem with the graphic artist and PR and Communications Committee to ensure timely promotion of the program for press and invitees.Send out timely appreciation letters to all speakers, sponsors, and others of importance to the success of each event.Provide a designated liaison to greet all speakers and program participants and provide hospitality and support.Sponsorship CommitteeLocate, develop and secure sponsors for FGILA programs, events and as sponsors of the electronic newsletter.Design and draft professionally presented sponsorship proposals for potential companies to include in-kind as well as financial contribution opportunities.Secure Logo identifications as well as written text, if necessary, to be uploaded to this site for sponsorship marketing and placement.Oversee fulfillment of sponsor pledges and contractual obligations particularly those that have long term expectations.Develop creative concepts that are appealing to potential donors within the parameters of the FGILA agenda and bylaws.Scholarship CommitteeLocate potential bright, creative students to enter our scholarship program.Develop new opportunities & programs for students within our scholarship program.Design and launch our Student Mentoring Program.Judge the Organize and recruit the judges for the selection process.Plan our annual Scholarship Awards Celebration.Organize the scholarship contest and supervise all mailings, cataloging of entries, communications to the fashion schools, logging and receiving the artist submissions as well as the appropriate return of the submitted artwork.organize communications with winning students and manage their participation in the awards program.Track data for all current and past winners of the scholarship program.Investigate total dollars given over the years and trace down as many recipients as possible in order to present these figures during our 75th Anniversary Year in 2010.Student Committee
